Tanerhynchia parki
Phylum: Brachiopoda
Genus: Tannerhychia Species: Tannerhychia parki Location found: Reefton |
To date, this is the only specimen of Tanerhynchia park that I have found in the Reefton deposits, suggesting that it is rare. Because the species is also relatively small, however, it is also possible that it is being overlooked during collection. It is likewise relatively rare in the literature on Devonian brachiopods, with the consequence that there are few descriptions to compare with. The species was earlier named Eatonia parki by Allan, who revised the name in 1947. At present, identification should be regarded as tentative.
